A calm sea horizon at first light

Our trustees

The people behind Living Not Existing.

A small board, chosen for what each of them can actually do for the people we help.

Chris Bamber, Founder and Chairman

Chris Bamber

Founder & Chairman

Living Not Existing began with Chris and Sarah’s shared determination to help others after Sarah’s diagnosis. Their experience highlighted how many people facing terminal illness don’t have the support or stability to make the most of life.

Chris leads the charity with compassion, purpose, and a commitment to honour Sarah’s strength.

Governance

How the charity is run.

Living Not Existing is governed by its board of trustees, who are responsible for the charity’s direction, its finances and the wellbeing of the people it supports. Trustees serve voluntarily and are not paid for their role.

Decisions about which experiences we fund are made against a clear set of principles rather than case by case sentiment: the referral must come from a professional involved in the person’s care, the experience must be what the person themselves has asked for, and the arrangement must be realistic given their treatment and their health.
